2. What I don’t do

This website uses no advertising networks, no cross-site tracking, no profiling and no automated decision-making. Fonts are served from this website’s own server, not loaded from external providers.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. When you visit the website, the server automatically records log data: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, amount of data transferred, referrer URL and browser information. This data is required to deliver the website and to ensure its secure operation. It is not merged with other data sources.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website.

4. Visitor statistics with Plausible Analytics

To understand how this website is used, I use Plausible Analytics, provided by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia. The data is processed on servers in the European Union. Plausible works without cookies and without persistent identifiers. No personal data is stored and no profiles are created. To count unique visitors, a daily changing, non-reversible hash is generated from the IP address and browser information. The IP address itself is not stored.

The following information is recorded anonymously: the page visited, the referring website, country, device type, browser and operating system, how far a page was scrolled and time spent on it, and interactions such as clicks on contact or project links, opening the certificate and which sections of the page were viewed.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in understanding and improving this website. You can opt out for this browser at any time. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key “plausible_ignore”.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. If you opt out of analytics, your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key “plausible_ignore”. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to me.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, as storing this setting is strictly necessary to provide the function you requested.

6. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, I process your email address and the content of your message to respond to your enquiry. The data is deleted once your enquiry has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

7. Links to external websites

This website links to external services such as LinkedIn, X and the websites of my projects. No data is transferred to these services until you click a link. After that, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, please email hello@dennispetersmann.com.

9. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.

10. Changes to this policy

I update this privacy policy whenever the website or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
